Respect Library Staff
Library ABCs and 123s
A - always pay attention to your book = BOOKCARE
B - bring books back on time, please
C - control your voices
1 - one book checkout for grades 2-5
2 - two center activities per library time
3 - three sections of books to select from (picture books, chapter books, and nonfiction books) to read each week
Any student with overdue, missing or lost book(s) will be unable to checkout books from the Library until the book(s) is/are returned on paid for.
Responsibility
Every patron is responsible for the items he/she checks out. Please assist your child with finding a safe place to store their library books at home. I am recommending that students keep their books in their backpacks.
Fines
There is no charge for overdue materials; although, students may not check out new books until they return all overdue materials. We understand accidents do happen...however, lost or damaged items must be paid for as soon as possible. Everyone, students and teachers, are financially responsible for any lost or damaged materials checked out in their name. Any student with overdue, missing or lost book(s) will be unable to checkout books from the Library until the book(s) is/are returned or paid for.
Class Visits
Each class visits the library weekly for a library lesson and book check out. Students may visit the library without their class with a pass from their teacher unless the librarian has other scheduled programs to attend. If the librarian is not available, a library check out time needs to be scheduled with the library volunteers or librarian.
Circulation Policy
Books are checked out for a 2 week period. Reference and other library materials are available upon teacher request.
